Desert Island Discs Archive 1951-1955 Desert Island Discs is one of the world's longest running radio programs where "castaways" are asked to chose choose eight records, a book and a luxury to take with them to the mythical desert island. The BBC has released selected archived interviews from the shows 70+ years of broadcasting, split into 5 year time frames each with a dedicated podcast feed.

Archived interviews from 1951-1955 include show creator and first host Roy Plomley interviewing Welsh dramatist and actor Emlyn Williams, conductor, organist and composer Malcolm Sargent, comedic script writer and comedy actor Jimmy Edwards and actress Margaret Lockwood.
